We would like to ask our friends and supporters to take a specific action. We need letters of
support for our acquisition (ownership) of two vacant residences adjacent to Chilao School.
We will use these residences to serve three primary audiences (as well as others):
• Environmental study groups and individuals, with a focus on Native American students who
have a serious interest in our planet and their role in protecting and preserving it
• Volunteer forestry groups
• Special needs individuals and their care-giving families
Having these residences will dramatically expand and enhance the scope of services we can
provide the native and non native communities, and will benefit the forest by allowing volunteers
and researchers to spend their time in the field instead of on the highway.
The residences need a LOT of work. The only way they will be a feasible investment is if we
own them outright. We have sought the acquisition of these houses since 2012. The forest supervisor's address is below to whom we hope you will appeal on our behalf, either by
written letter, or email, or both. Their information follows. You can download a sample letter
here.
Please direct your letters in support of Redbird's acquisition of the USFS vacant residences
adjacent to the Chilao School compound to:
